Light for Africa Foundation Begins Construction of Modern School in Namukora, Kitgum District

The Light for Africa Foundation is proud to announce the commencement of construction for a modern primary school in Namukora Village, Kitgum District, Uganda. This initiative marks a significant step in the Foundation’s mission to promote access to quality education in rural communities.

The new school will be named General Tito Lutwa Okello Primary School at Namukora, in honor of General Tito Lutwa Okello, the former President of Uganda who served from 1985 to 1986. General Okello was a respected leader and son of the region, and this school is a tribute to his legacy and contribution to the country.

The school will feature modern classrooms, sanitation facilities, and space for extracurricular development—designed to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for children in the region.

This project reflects our deep commitment to empowering future generations through education and is made possible through strong partnerships with local leaders and community stakeholders.

We are excited to see the progress and long-term impact this school will bring to Namukora and the broader Kitgum District.
